In addition, he is a Political Affairs Committee Member for Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mumbai Regional Congress, and Maharashtra PCC, and the Zonal Coordinator of the National Media Hunt for North East India, contributing to leadership identification and media outreach in emerging regions.

One of his most significant political interventions as AICC Joint Secretary was his crucial role in the political realignment in Meghalaya, which led to the split of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the return of senior leader Zenith Sangma, brother of former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, along with his family and supporters, to the Indian National Congress—an effort that reshaped the political landscape of the state.

Mathew Antony’s leadership has consistently extended beyond politics into large-scale humanitarian action.

During the Kerala floods of 2018, he led and coordinated relief efforts through the Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta constituencies, mobilising resources and logistics worth approximately ₹5.75 crore.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in Mumbai, he spearheaded relief operations amounting to ₹6.5 crore in equivalent support, including ration kits, medicines, and essential supplies for vulnerable communities.

His ability to mobilise resources swiftly, coordinate volunteers, and work across institutions underscored his strengths as a crisis leader.

As President of the All India Professionals Congress (AIPC), Mathew Antony initiated several impactful campaigns. Notably, he led efforts to publicise air passengers’ rights, bringing consumer awareness and accountability into public discourse.

Through AIPC, he also played a vital role in supporting over 800 healthcare professionals by facilitating opportunities abroad, helping them retain visas and safeguard their livelihoods during a period of global uncertainty.

In Mumbai, he served as the elected Vice President of the Kerala Catholic Association (2021–2023), where his work was shaped by close engagement with families, youth, and senior citizens. Mathew Antony’s public life is deeply inspired by his family legacy, following the tradition of distinguished leaders such as K. T. Thomas of the Karippaparambil family and Akkama Cheriyan, icons of courage, constitutional values, and social reform in Kerala’s political history.

K. T. Thomas was a Member of the Travancore–Cochin Legislative Assembly (1954–56) and a representative in the 1st and 2nd Kerala Legislative Assemblies from Kanjirappally (Congress). A BA, BL, and Advocate, born on 15 August 1914, he entered politics through the Travancore State Congress in 1938, participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement, and underwent imprisonment during the freedom struggle.
